Known issues:

- The new "NPTL" threading library shipped with newer versions of
RedHat (RedHat 9, Enterprise Server 3.0) has bugs which can cause
LinDVD to hang. The workaround to run LinDVD using the older
"LinuxThreads" library. This can be done by setting the following
  environment variable:

  setenv LD_ASSUME_KERNEL 2.4.1; lindvd

- LinDVD can access the DVD-ROM via either the ide-cd or ide-scsi
drivers. In some Linux kernel releases, one or the other may have
  a performance advantage.

- The default ATI drivers shipped with XFree86 do not correctly refresh
the overlay on some systems (especially version 4.0.1), and generally
do not provide optimal performance. If you have an ATI card, we highly
recommend using the drivers found at: http://gatos.sourceforge.net.

- Lock aspect ratio
There are still some issues with lock aspect ratio such as
  picture sizing and positioning.

- SiS 630 systems have a flicker and sometimes an incorrect
picture remains on the screen after the Window is moved,
resized, or switched from window to full screen.
This is a SiS driver issue.

- ATI Rage systems running XFree86 4.0.1 may be very slow and
drop frames, with X alone taking up to 60% of the CPU. This is
an ATI Driver issue, particularly with XFree 4.0.1 (shipped with
RedHat 7.0). Upgrading to XFree86 4.0.2 or later is highly
  recommended!

- Intel 810 systems will need XFree 4.0.2 or later to work
properly. Many problems have been fixed in releases since 4.0.1
which improve the playback performance. Please note that
RedHat 7.0 ships with XFree 4.0.1.
