Transferring
Files

The File Transfer window is responsible for transferring files. You can select one or more files to transfer to the computer of one or more students. This window can also be used to accept or reject file transfer requests from your students.

Fields and Commands
|
||
|
Outgoing Transfer Setup This
commands group displays information about the files that you are
sending to the students. |
||
|
|
File This field displays the name of the files that you want send to the selected selected students. You can choose one or more files to send through the Browse... button. This
field is read-only and it cannot be modified. |
|
|
|
Browse... You must choose one or more files to transfer. After pressing the Browse... button a new window will be displayed, and you can select the files to transfer.
After
selecting one or more files to transfer and press the Open
button, the application will return to the previous window. If
there is at least one selected student in the list, the Start
Transfer button will be enabled. |
|
|
|
Student Login This field displays the student login. This
field is read-only and it cannot be modified. |
|
|
|
Disk Usage This field displays the disk usage of the student's computer, indicating the free space in the hard disk. This
field is read-only and it cannot be modified. |
|
|
|
Send Location This
field displays the location in the student's computer where the
file is going to be transferred. This location can be modified if
you want. This field will display the default send location, that
can be modified through the Settings window. |
|
|
|
Select All This
field allows you to select all the students in the list. If the
field is unchecked, the selection of the students will be
removed. |
|
|
|
Start Transfer This
button starts transferring the selected files to the corresponding
selected students. |
|
|
Transfers This group displays information about the file transfers.

|
Transfer Type This field displays the type of the file transfer which can be one of the following values:

field is read-only and it cannot be modified. |

Student Login This field displays the login of the student for whom you are sending the file, in the case of an outgoing file transfer or the student that is sending you a file, in the case of an incoming file transfer. This
field is read only, and it cannot be
modified. |

|
|
File Name This field displays the name of the file that is being transfered. This
field is read only, and it cannot be
modified. |
|
|
|
File Size This field displays the size of the file that is being transfered. This
field is read only, and it cannot be
modified. |
|
|
|
Destination Location This field displays the path that the file will be saved in your computer, in the case of an incoming file transfer or it displays the path that the file will be saved in the student's computer, in the case of an outgoing file transfer. This
field is read only, and it cannot be
modified. |

File Transfer Status This
field indicates the file transfer status, that can be one of the
following: |
|
|
|
|
No Transfer: the file is not being transferred. In Progress: the file is being transferred. Success: the file was successfully transferred. Pendent: the file already exists in the corresponding path and you must decide if the file must be replaced or not. Canceled: the file transfer was canceled. Fail:
there was a failure in the file transfer. |

Select All This
field allows you to select all the files in the list. If the field
is unchecked, the selection of the files will be removed. |
|
|
|
Cancel Transfer If
you press this button the selected file transfers will be
canceled. |
|
|
|
Replace If
the file that is being transfered already exists in the path
indicated in the Destination Location field you can press
this button to replace the file. |
|
|
|
Clear Transfers Press
this button to clear the file transfers selected in the list. |
|
|
|
Open Base Folder This
button opens the folder where the files sent by the students were
saved. This base folder can be configured through the Settings
window. |
|
|
Incoming Transfer requests This
commands group displays information about the files that the
students are trying to send to your computer. |

|
Student Login This field displays the login of the student that is trying to send you a file. This
field is read only, and it cannot be
modified. |
|
|
|
File Name This field displays the name of the file that the student is trying to send to you. This
field is read only, and it cannot be
modified. |
|
|
|
File Size This field displays the size of the file that the student is trying to send to you. This
field is read only, and it cannot be
modified. |
|
|
|
Receive Location This
field displays the path that the file will be saved if you accept
the file transfer. You can change this field if you want. This
field will display the default receive location, that can be
modified through the Settings window. This default receive
location will be increased with the Class Model name and the name
of the student that is trying to send the file. |

|
Select All This
field allows you to select all the files in the list. If the field
is unchecked, the selection of the files will be removed. |
|
|
|
Accept Press
this button to accept the transfer for all files that are selected
in the list. |
|
|
|
Reject Press
this button to reject the transfer for all files that are selected
in the list. |
|
|
Help This button displays the Help window where you can navigate through the v-Class Teacher help topics.

Close This button closes the File Transfer window and returns to the Main window. |
