Window

The Main window displays the options to send commands and interact with the students that are using the v-Class Student. This window is also responsible for displaying the students that are in the class activated by the teacher.

Fields
and Commands
|
|
Buttons To
execute the buttons actions using the keyboard, you must press the
ALT key and the underlined letter of the button's title.
For example: the Remote Commands function can
be accessed through the keys: ALT + R. |
|
Connected Students This field allows you to view all the students, connected or not, included in the Class Model that is active. The image of the connected students will be displayed with the color selected by each student and the battery level status of the student's Classmate PC will be also displayed, as illustrated by the following picture.

Profile This
button displays the Profile window that allows you to
change your information, such as your password, for example. |
|
Apply Policy This
button allows applying a policy defined by PolicyControl.
To use this function, the teacher's version of this product must
be installed in your computer. |
|
Chat Groups This button allows sending and receiving instant text messages for all students included in a group created by you. At least one student must be selected to create the group to send the instant text messages. When
this button is pressed, the Chat Groups window is
displayed. |
|
Class Model A Class Model is defined by a list of students. You can create as many Class Models as you want, but only one Class Model can be active at the same time. When a Class Model is active, the students included in it will be displayed in the students list, if they are connected to the class or not. This button is used to create, edit, copy, remove, activate, import and export Class Models. When
you press this button, the Class Model Management window is
displayed. |

File Transfer This button allows transferring files to the connected students and receiving files sent by the students. When
you press this button, the File Transfer window is
displayed to choose one or more files that you want to send to the
students computers. In the case of receiving files from the
students, this window is displayed so you can accept or reject the
file transfer. |
|
Manage Displays This button allows that you display a presentation of what you are doing in your computer to the students, through the capture of the screen of your computer. This function also allows that a student displays his screen to you and to other students in class, so you can view what is being done in this student's computer. In this case you can also take control of the student's computer and use his mouse and keyboard to show the functions of applications and other actions, to teach a feature to this student and to other students in class. Through
the Manage Displays window you can also have the option to
monitor all connected students, which means that you can view the
screen of these students computers. |

Remote Commands This
button allows the remote execution of commands in the students
computers. Some commands are already pre-defined by the
application, such as rebooting the student's computer. You can
also execute other commands, such as opening an Internet address
(URL) in the student's computer browser. |

Silence Computer This button allows sending a command to block one or more students computers, which means that the keyboard, mouse and video of their computers will be blocked. It's possible to type a message to be displayed in the students computers when they are blocked. The student will not be able to unblock his computer and he will not be able to execute any functions until you stop the Silence Computer function. When
this button is pressed, the Silence Computer window is
displayed. |

Tests and Quizzes The
Tests and Quizzes module allows the creation, application
and evaluation of tests or instant questions send to the students
computers. |
|
Text Messages This group of fields allows you to send and view text messages sent to the students. It also allows you to receive text messages sent by the students. You can also allow the communication through text messages between the students. To view the Text Messages group, you must press the Show button where the text box to type the messages and the Send button will be visible. To hide the Text Messages group you can press the Hide button. The following picture illustrates the Text Messages group being displayed.
To
send messages to one or more students, select them in the list,
type the desired message in the text box next to the Send
button and then press the Send button or press the ENTER
key in your keyboard. A messages history will be displayed when
you send messages to the students and when the students sends
messages to you. In this last case, the option to allow the
student to send messages to you must be enabled through the
Settings window. To display this window and configure the
items referent to the text messages, press the Settings
button. |
Actions

New Students Requests When a student tries to connect to you using v-Class Student, a field with the student login will be displayed in the students list, so you can accept or reject the student's connection, as illustrated by the following picture: |

To accept a student, you can select it in the list and press the Accept button. Then the student will be connected. If you want to accept all students that requested connection, you can check the Select All field and then press the Accept button. If a student is accepted and you save the active Class Model, the next time this student requests connection, he will be automatically accepted in class. To reject a student, you can select it in the list and press the Reject button. Then the student will not be connected in class. If you want to reject all students requests, you can check the Select All field and then press the Reject button. These
rejected students will not be automatically connected the next
time they request connection. They will have to request the
connection again and wait for your approval. |

Select All This
button allows you to select all the connected students. When all
students are selected, you can apply a function to all of them. |
|
Details This button allows you to view the battery level status, the state and which functions are being executed in the computer of each connected student.
|
|
Teacher Visibility This
button allows you to display or not your on line status to the
students when you are connected to v-Class Teacher. If this
option is On, the students will be able to see you in
v-Class Student and will be able to request connection. If
the option is Off, the students will not see you in the
network, and so, they will not be able to request connection. |
|
Class Model Lock This button allows locking or unlocking the students in the Class Model. If the On option is selected, the students will not be able to exit the class and if the Off option is selected, the students will be able to exit the class anytime they want. When the Class Model is locked, if a student, that is not included in the active Class Model, requests connection, the connection will be automatically rejected. Only when the Class Model is unlocked, students that are not in the class list will be able to request connection without being automatically rejected. If
the Class Model is locked and for some reason, the student
disconnects (for example, he reboots his computer), when the
student enters v-Class Student, the application will
make six attempts to connect to the last teacher. If the
connection is not possible (for example, your computer is not in
the network), the v-Class Student will display the list of
teachers available in the network and so the student can choose
another teacher to connect to his class. |

Disconnect This button allows disconnecting the students in the active Class Model. To disconnect students, first you must select them in the students list and then press the Disconnect button. The
v-Class Student will display an alert message to the
students that were disconnected, indicating that the class was
finished. |
|
Logout This button allows you to exit the application. If this action is used to exit the application, the next time that v-Class Teacher is executed, the Login window will be displayed. Before you exit the application, a confirmation message will be displayed for you to confirm if you really want to exit. If you press the Yes button, the application will be closed. If the No button is pressed, the application will return to the Main window.
If
you exit the application without executing the Logout
command, using the X button located on the top bar of the
Main window, the next time that you access v-Class
Teacher, the Login window will not be displayed, and
the application will be automatically redirected to the Main
window. |

Help This
button displays the Help window where you can navigate through the
v-Class Teacher help
topics. |
|
About This
button displays a window with information about v-Class Teacher
such as its version number. |
|
Settings This
button displays the Settings window that allows you to
configure parameters that will affect the File Transfer,
Text Messages and other functions. |
Menus

Pop Up Menu – Main Functions When you click with the right mouse button in any part of the Main window, except for the Students List, a pop up menu is displayed, as illustrated by the following picture:
This pop up menu displays the main functions of v-Class Teacher and they corresponds to the functions that can be executed by pressing the buttons in the Main window. These functions are: Apply Policy: this option displays the Apply Policy window where you can apply policies elaborated with PolicyControl product in the students computers. Chat Groups: this option displays the Chat Groups window where you can create discussion groups with students connected in the active Class Model. Class Model: this option displays the Class Model Management window where you can create, edit, remove and activate your Class Models. File Transfer: this option displays the File Transfer window where you can send files to the connected students and receive files from the students. Remote Commands: this option displays the Remote Commands window where you can open and close applications in the students computers, execute pre-defined commands and other functions. Silence: this option displays the Silence Computer window where you can execute the silence function in the students computers to block their mouse, keyboard and video. Tests and Quizzes: this option displays the Tests and Quizzes window where you can create tests, apply them to the connected students, receive their answers and correct them. You can also apply an instant question to the students. Manage Displays: this option displays the Manage Displays window where you can send a presentation to the students and they will be able to view what you are doing in your computer. You can also monitor a student's computer or monitor all class. Logout: this option displays a message for you to confirm if you really want to exit v-Class Teacher. You must disconnect all students in your active Class Model to be able to logout. Exit:
this option closes the v-Class Teacher, but the application
will still be running in the operational system tasks bar. When
you open the application again, the Login window will not
be displayed and the application will be redirected to the Main
window. You don't need to disconnect the students before using
this function. |

Pop Up Menu – Class Model Functions When you click with the right mouse button in the students list in the Main window, a pop up menu is displayed, as illustrated by the following picture:
This pop up menu displays some function you can execute with your Class Models. These functions are: Activate: when you select this menu item, another menu will be displayed with all Class Models that you have created, except for the active Class Model. You can select one of the Class Models in this list to activate it. Note that to activate a different Class Model you must first disconnect all students in the active Class Model. Save: this option saves the active Class Model. If it is the first time that you are saving the Class Model, the Class Model Name window will be displayed for you to inform a name to the new Class Model. If it is not the first time, this window will not be displayed. Copy: this option copies the active Class Model to create a new one. The Class Model Name window will be displayed for you to inform the name for the new Class Model. The copied Class Model will not be automatically activated, but you can activate it using the Activate menu item of this pop up menu or using the Activate button in the Class Model Management window. |
