Executing Remote Commands
The Remote Commands window is responsible for opening and closing one or more applications that you want to execute in the students computers. This window also allows the execution of other commands in the students computers, such as: open an Internet address (URL) in a browser, reboot or shutdown the computer, close all opened applications and other commands.

Connected Students
	Student Login This field displays a connected student login. This field is read-only and it cannot be modified.
	Select All This field selects all students in the list. To remove the selection you must check this field again.
Commands to execute on selected students computers
	Execute Application Panel In this panel you can open and close applications in the students computers.
		Select an application In this panel, all applications in the Metasys K Menu are listed, except for the v-Class Teacher. The applications are listed according to their groups, such as: “Accessories”, “Games” and others. To view the applications that belong to a group, you can press the button with a plus (+) symbol located to the left side of the group name, expanding the applications of the corresponding group. You can view many applications, such as “FireFox”, “Konqueror” and other applications.
		Run Application To execute an application in the students computers, you must select the desired students in the students list, check the application in the list and then press the Run Application button. Only one application can be executed at the same time. This way, when an application is checked, the previously checked application in the list will be unchecked. If there is an error when the application is executed, a text will be displayed in the field on the bottom of this window, indicating the problem that occurred.
		Close Application To close an application in the students computers, you must select the desired students in the students list, check the application in the list and then press the Close Application button. Only one application can be closed at the same time. This way, when an application is checked, the previously checked application in the list will be unchecked. The students can close the application that you have opened. If there is an error when the application is closed, a text will be displayed in the field on the bottom of this window, indicating the problem that occurred.
	Open URL Panel In this panel, you can type an Internet address to be opened in the students computers.

		Enter a URL to open in a browser Type in this field an Internet address (URL) to be opened in the browser of the students computers. For example: “http://www.google.com”.
		Open URL Opens the typed Internet address (URL) in the selected students computers. This button is only enabled after the selection of at least one student and the information of an Internet address. This function will only work y if the Internet is correctly configured in the students computers.
	Execute Command Panel In this panel, you can execute commands in the students computers.
		Enter or select a command to execute Type in this field a command that you want to execute in the selected students computers. The command will be executed with permissions of the logged user in the student computer. If, for example, you type the word “konsole”, the Konsole application will be opened in the students computers.

		Besides entering a command you can select one of the pre-defined commands defined as follows:
		Reboot Computer This option reboots the selected students computers.
		Shutdown Computer This option shuts down the selected students computers.
		Close All Applications This option close all applications opened in the students computers, independently if the application was opened by the teacher or the student. The system applications, the system tray applications, the v-Class Student and PolicyControl are not closed by this command.
		Execute Command This button executes the typed or selected command in the selected students computers. This button will only be enabled after the selection of at least one student and the information of a command. If the Add pre-defined commands list field is checked when this button is pressed, the typed command will be included in the commands list. So, when you open this window again, you can select this command in the list instead of typing it again.
		Add pre-defined commands list Check this field if you want that the typed command be included in the list of pre-defined commands when the Execute Command button is pressed. If you include the command in the list, the next time you want to execute it, you can select it in the list instead of typing it again.
		Clear Selected Command This button clears a command that is included in the list of pre-defined commands. If you remove a command from the list, the next time you want to execute it, you must type it again.
		Clear All Commands This button clears all commands that are included in the list of pre-defined commands. If you remove the commands from the list, the next time you want to execute them, you must type them again.
Remote Commands Feedback This button displays information about the commands executed in the students computers, such as, if an application failed to open in a specific computer or if even if an application doesn't exist in the student's computer. The teacher will not view the result of the commands executed in the students computers.
Help This button displays the Help window where you can navigate through the v-Class Teacher help topics.
Close This button closes the Remote Commands window and returns to the Main window.
