Elaborating
Tests

The Test Elaboration window allows you to create a new test or edit an existing one. Only the author of the test can edit it. To edit a test from another teacher you must save the test with another title. This window can be displayed in the following situations: the New button is pressed in the Manage Tests window; the Edit button is pressed in the Manage Tests window or the Create a Test button is pressed in any window of the Tests and Quizzes module. Fields
and Commands
|
|
|
Test This
group contains the necessary fields to enter the values referent
to the test being created or being edited. |
|
|
|
Author This field displays the teacher's name that is logged into v-Class Teacher, indicating that you are going to be the author of the test being created or edited. This
field is read-only and cannot be modified. |
|
|
Total Score This field displays the total score of the test being created or edited. After the inclusion of a new question in the test, the Score field, located in the View Questions group, must be modified with the score of each question in the test. The value of the Total Score field will be automatically calculated by the application as the sum of the score of all questions in the test. This
field is read-only and cannot be modified. |

|
Title Enter
a title for the test being created or edited. This field is
required. |
|
|
Discipline Type
in this field the name of the discipline for which the test is
being created or edited. For example, you can be creating an
English test, a Biology test, a Mathematics test and others. When
a discipline is typed in this field, the next time that you create
or edit a test, it will be displayed in the list of available
disciplines. This way you will not need to type it again, just
select it in the list. This field is required. |

Grade Type
in this field the name of the grade for which the test is being
created or edited. For example, you can be creating a test for the
first, second or third grade. When a grade is typed in this field,
the next time that you create or edit a test, it will be displayed
in the list of available grades. This way you will not need to
type it again, just select it in the list. This field is
required. |
|
|
Instructions Type
in this field instructions for the test, if necessary. |
|
Questions This
fields and commands group lists the questions created or included
to the current test and allows the management of these questions.
At least one question must be included in the test, otherwise it
cannot be saved. Besides, all questions included in the test must
be scored through the Score field of the View Questions
group or the test will not be saved either. |

|
Question This field displays the question's name. This
field is read-only and it cannot be modified. |
|
|
Type This field displays the type of the question. The question can be a one-answer choice question or an open question. This
field is read-only and it cannot be modified. |
|
|
Add This
button allows adding a question to the test. After pressing this
button, the Questions window will be displayed and the
questions, that already exist in the questions base, can be
included in the test, or new questions can be created to be
included in the test. |

|
Remove This button allows removing a question from the test. Select a question in the questions list and then press the Remove button. Only one question can be removed at a time. When you press the Remove button a message will be displayed for you to confirm the removal.
If
the Yes button is pressed, the question will be removed
from the test. Note that the question will still be in the
questions base, but it will not be included in the current test
anymore. Press the No button to cancel the question
removal. In this case, the application will return to the Test
Elaboration window. |

Edit Select
in the questions group, the question that you want to modify and
then press the Edit button. The Create a Question window
will be displayed and in this window you will be able to make
changes to the question. The changes that you made will only
affect the question of the current test, which means that the
original question in the questions base will not be modified. |

|
New Press
the New button to create a new question to the current
test. The Create a Question window will be displayed and
you can use it to create a new question. When you create a new
question, it will be also included in the questions base. |
|
|
Up This
button allows moving the selected question one position above the
current one. You can use this function to change the order that
the questions are displayed in the test. This button is only
enabled if the selected question is not the first question in the
test. |
|
|
Down This
button allows moving the selected question one position bellow the
current one. You can use this function to change the order that
the questions are displayed in the test. This button is only
enabled if the selected question is not the last question in the
test. |
|
View Questions This
group allows that you view the questions included in the test. To
view a question, select it in the Questions group. |
|
|
|
Score Type
the score to the question that is being displayed. When you type
scores to the test's questions, the Total Score field will
be automatically calculated, as the sum of all questions scores in
the test. |
|
|
Previous Press
this button to display the question that is before the current
one. This button will not be enabled if the current question is
the first question in the test. |
|
|
Next Press
this button to display the question that is after the current one.
This button will not be enabled if the current question is the
last question in the test. |
|
Preview Allows
that you preview the test, in the manner that it will be displayed
to the students when it is applied to them. The Preview
window will be displayed and you can press the Close
Preview button
in this window to return to the Test
Elaboration
window. |

|
OK After
making the necessary changes, press the OK
button to save the test. The window will be closed and the
application will return to the Manage
Tests
window. |
|
|
Cancel If you want to cancel the creation or the edition of the test, press the Cancel button and the Test Elaboration window will be closed, returning to the Manage Tests window. |
|
|
Help This
button displays the Help window where you can navigate through the
v-Class
Teacher help
topics. |
|
|
Close This button closes this window and returns to the v-Class Teacher Main window. |
